IMDG – International Maritime Dangerous Goods code for shipping hazardous materials by sea.

 

The SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) agreement and the IMO (International Maritime Organization) have applied strict rules requiring that international shipments must comply with the IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) code.

  • Identification - Proper Shipping Names including N.O.S. (Not Otherwise Specified) mixtures and solutions
  • Use of the DGL  (Dangerous Goods List)
  • Packing
  • Marking, Labelling and/or Placarding
  • Loading or unloading Cargo Transport Units
  • Preparing transport documents
  • Stowage and Segregation
  • Safe Handling Procedures
  • Emergency response procedures
  • First aid measures
